LaunchX, started in 2012, has always been focused on providing incredible business summer programs for high school students. Though high school students start companies and create solutions for existing businesses, the goal of LaunchX has always been beyond the deliverables and, instead, focusing on developing the future business leader.
The summer program offering will be expanding for the 2024 summer. More students than ever will have the opportunity to join a team, learn about core business principles, develop a solution, and pitch that solution to a panelist of experts.
Starting in 2020, LaunchX began offering its rigorous entrepreneurship summer program online. Since then, the response has been off the charts as students virtually join from around the world to start a real company in just 5 weeks. This stretching program pairs business head knowledge with the practical theory of prototyping and deploying their solution – even going on to make sales before the program ends. The program culminates in the Online Demo Day, a chance for each team to present their new product or service to a panel of experts to receive final insight and affirmation.

Starting in 2023, the Innovation Summer Program bring a new era of business summer programs to high school students. Partner businesses and organizations bring a genuine challenge their business is facing that they would like students to work on. Teams of students work together with the business partner to find a solution to the problem – exploring the problem from multiple perspectives, developing prototypes, and iterating on potential solutions. Innovation Day is an opportunity for students to present their idea to their partner company and other business leaders for feedback on their final solution.

At a mystery location that has yet to be announced, students will gather from all over the world to start a business. In just 4 short weeks, students work with their team to identify a problem and propose a solution that would work in the market. Teams are then expected to prototype and produce their new product or service and sell their new product to real customers. This experience allows students to experience the full scope of starting a business – helping them to develop useful skills both in business and beyond. Like the Online Entrepreneurship Summer Program, students present at Demo Day to expert panelists who provide feedback and encouragement for the new startup.

Head north this summer to Ann Arbor – a hub of innovators and entrepreneurs eager to change the world. 80 students will come together to live in college dorms and develop a startup in 4 weeks! During the program, there will be opportunities to develop deep connections with other Launchies through community events and explore the university’s campus. All students will create a new company through their teammates' shared ideas and experiences, creating a real company by the time the program finishes. As with the other entrepreneurship programs, every student presents at Demo Day, a chance to show off their hard work and gain valuable feedback from industry experts on the panel.

LaunchX invites anyone attending high school to apply to attend 1 of the 4 incredible programs. The LaunchX application is streamlined, allowing students to apply to multiple programs simultaneously. Early applicants are more likely to be accepted and more likely to be able to attend their program of preference.
For families whose income is less than $100,000 USD (or the equivalent), LaunchX offers generous financial awards – working to make LaunchX affordable to all qualified applicants.
